School Bus Transport:
Bus transport is available for children aged 5→9 years living at least 3.2 kms from school, and for children aged 10+ years living at least 4.8 kms from school. It is possible that your child may have to walk up to 1.8 kms to the nearest bus stop. Please check your eligibility at the school office. Because of contractual obligations between the school and bus operators, no unauthorised changes or additions to bus stops or routes can be made.

Cyclists
The school supports the New Zealand Transport Agency recommendation that children should be aged 10 years or older before cycling on public roads unsupervised. Cyclists are expected to comply with the law and wear a helmet. Check your children's bikes regularly and ensure they know the road rules and the safest route to school.

Join the Mt Iron Walking School Bus

The Mt Iron walking school bus leaves every morning at 8.20am from Anderson Rd (meet on Anderson Rd by lane from Achilles Place... look for the sign!) and route goes via Mataraki Place.  If wet, check Radio Wanaka for cancellations.
For more information, call Kath Wilson on 443-7874.   Walking buses run in terms 1 and 4 (for walking during other term times, check with Kath first).

Join the Summertime Cycle Train from Albert Town

If you want to be part of the Albert Town MORNING cycle train, please contact Kirsty Barr on 443 8609 for more information.  We want to ensure there are enough adult helpers to safely supervise children.

Want to Make Your Own Walking School Bus or Cycle Train?
We are always looking for helpers and children who want to walk or bike regularly to school – it doesn’t have to be everyday, and morning runs only are expected.  .  If you or your children want to be involved, please contact Kirsty Barr 443 8609.
