Welcome from the Principal

Hello. Welcome to our brand new Wanaka Primary School website developed for our brand new school, which opened for the first day on 11th October, 2010.  Check out our new school link and photos of our first day.

My name is Dr. Wendy Bamford and it has been my privilege to have been principal at Wanaka Primary School over the last 6 years, leading a team of passionate, innovative educators and working with a dynamic, active Board of Trustees and Parent Forum.  I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the team to design and build our new state of the art school, well set up to achieve our mission to ‘empower a community of learners’. 

Wanaka Primary School provides rich learning opportunities for year 1 – 6 students.  Our school roll is 430.  We are proud of our high levels of literacy and numeracy, our achievements in the Arts and sporting pursuits and our students positive engagement and enthusiasm for learning.
